Cheerful Sutton Home
Our clients wanted to downsize their home and move onto a golf-course. The original property was dated and needed revamping to suit their tastes.
Artcomposé proposed a soapstone countertop for the living room credenza, plus a similar silestone for the new kitchen countertops, backsplash, and fireplace base.
We were inspired by the clients’ artwork, travel artifacts, and wardrobe.
We used ash and walnut as main focal finishes for the living room.
We applied a green seagrass cloth on the staircase walls and entrance. This natural fibre brings textured elegance to the space.
Commonly used in the 60s and 70s, seagrass cloth wallpaper has resurged. Made from hand-woven strands of seagrass on a rice paper backing, no two rolls of grasscloth wallpaper are alike. Due to natural variations in fiber size and porosity, the strands dye unevenly, creating beautiful variations.
We pulled the seagrass colour into the kitchen, giving them a new painted oak island with true brass finishes.
Keeping the upholstery light-hued and focusing on one or two patterns/colours for interesting contrasts.

A local artisan supplied beautiful red barn doors, leading to the guest bed in the basement. For just the right amount of vibrancy, the same bright red was strategically sprinkled throughout the house to compliment the green.
